Local Request for Proposals (RFP) 
- Any program that wishes to become a provider of
School Readiness services in the Plymouth/Terryville community, must submit a local
proposal to the Plymouth Early Childhood Council for approval. All local RFP
submissions will be reviewed by the Plymouth Early Childhood Council and scored.

All School Readiness providers must be willing and able to comply with all
legislated mandates. Please see the web site below for copies of the School Readiness
General Policies.

General Policies

of these policies.

The School Readiness Grant Application – Programs interested in participating in the
open-bid process must contact Donna Koser, Plymouth School Readiness Liaison at plymouthearlychildhoodcouncil@plymouthct.us for a Request For Proposal application.  For additional information, please call or (860) 212-9985.  Applicants should apply early in order to complete the application by the due date of April 15, 2017.

Submission/ Due Date
Eligible applicants must submit an application for July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2018.
Grant award letters will be issued annually based on the annual appropriation of the
Connecticut Legislature and the grant recipient’s compliance with the program requirements.  Due date for completed grant application is May, 2017.
 
The Plymouth Early Childhood Council is currently accepting Quality Enhancement (QE) applications for the July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018 fiscal year.
The purpose of the Quality Enhancement Grant is to provide funding for early childhood programs that focus on education and early care that address quality standards and/or expand comprehensive services for children and families.
 
We are specifically interested in applications for professional development programming in the following areas around Preschool-Kindergarten Transition and need a trainer to facilitate two meetings with members of the Plymouth Early Childhood Council and to facilitate four joint professional development trainings for Preschool and Kindergarten teachers, and home day care providers around the following topic areas:
 
          Appropriate interaction with parents, dealing with “difficult” personalities and appropriate social media interaction with parents.
          Diversity
    Language and Literacy specifically in enhancing both writing and phonological awareness skills in both Preschool and Kindergarten children
          Social Emotional Development including conflict resolution and self-regulation skills for children with challenging behaviors.

Local Request for Proposals must be submitted electronically and are due on April 15, 2017.

School Readiness Liaison Position
 
The Plymouth Early Childhood Council is actively seeking a School Readiness Liaison to assist in closing out the fiscal year and fulfilling the role as outlined on the  Office of Early Childhood Council Website: http://www.ct.gov/oec/lib/oec/gp_c-01_sr_council_resp_and_role_of_liaison-august_2016.pdf.
Applicant must have at a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a Masters in Early Care and Education.  If interested, please send your resume along with three references to Donna Koser, Acting School Readiness Liaison, at plymouthearlychildhoodcouncil@plymouthct.us .
