School Closure Resources WEBSITES FOR ADDITIONAL LEARNING AND EXPLORATION


While home for an extended school closure students may choose to explore the following sites.  Individual teachers may have sent home additional practices in either electronic or paper form.  When in doubt, read, discuss, write, research and practice math facts and fluencies!


PBS KIDS (K-5):

https://pbskids.org/ Games match learning content to their companion show, so topics are as varied as the PBS KIDS lineup. For instance, Wild Kratts games address science and animals; Webonauts, media literacy; Eco World, environment and ecology; Design Squad, engineering; and Fetch, science and problem-solving. 


HOW TO SMILE (SCIENCE K-12):

MATH GAMES (K-8):

https://www.mathgames.com/ MathGames includes an interactive set of games and assessment-style questions that are aligned with Common Core State Standards. Skills range from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.


COMMON SENSE MEDIA WEBSITES (K-12):

"Best of" lists offer handpicked, carefully reviewed titles grouped by category. Topics range from skills essential to life and work in the 21st century, to traditional academic subjects.


KHAN ACADEMY (K-12):

https://www.khanacademy.org/ Khan Academy is a great way for your child to get help with what they’re learning in school or to learn something completely new.  Personalized SAT practice with linked College Board account.


TIME FOR KIDS (K-6):

BREAKOUT EDU (K-12):

GONOODLE (K-5):

SCHOLASTIC LEARN AT HOME (PK-6+):

https://classroommagazines.scholastic.com/support/learnathome.html Even when schools are closed, you can keep the learning going with these special cross-curricular journeys. Every day includes four separate learning experiences, each built around a thrilling, meaningful story or video. Kids can do them on their own, with their families, or with their teachers. Just find your grade level and let the learning begin!
